BT Internet Rangers Initiative – Young generation to teach the Old Generation

BT offers BT Broadband across millions of UK households. These days most people prefer to conduct their bill payments as well as shopping online. Tackling the issue of getting older generation to set on the computer and go about their communication and shopping activities online does require extra effort and training. BT Internet Rangers is a program which encourages the young generation to teach grand parents and parents on how to go about online and conducting their essential activities such as managing accounts, making purchases and payments. Since its inception in 2003, the programme of Internet Rangers, the young generation have successful strived to bridge the digital divide between the two generations.

BT Internet Rangers has added a new category to the existing programme by awarding a £5000 grant to the school or a group of schools which maximize its activities with the aim to educate people on the use of broadband and accessing the Internet especially to those who are socially and digitally excluded.
